Ian Martin Allison didn’t want to pick a side. The ASP-45125 starts from La Bella’s Super Polished formula: a stainless roundwound polished down until the surface feels almost like a flat, with none of the finger squeak and far less wear on your frets.

The result is a 5-string set that still barks and cuts when you dig in, but settles into a warm, even fundamental when you play soft. The gauges (.045–.125) are balanced for a tight, focused low B, the hex core keeps intonation locked in, and the signature pink and grey silks make them easy to spot on a crowded string tray.
