La Bella’s Low Tension Flats are the best-selling light-tension flatwound on the market, and the LTF-5A brings that recipe to five strings. They’re made with the same hand-wound, hand-polished process behind La Bella’s legendary Deep Talkin’ Bass sets — but with a round core and a narrower ribbon wrap that drops the tension without going floppy. You get the deep, woody thump flats are loved for, a smoother surface under your fingers, and a low B that actually speaks.
That round core is the whole trick. It lets the string flex like a lighter-gauge round while keeping the fundamental tight, so the .118 B sits right in line with the rest of the set instead of lagging behind it. Made in the USA with American wire and sealed in modified-atmosphere packaging, so the set you open plays as fresh as the day it was wound.
