When two bass minds like Dan Lakin—legendary luthier of Lakland and bass aficionado—and Mark Gooday come together, you know something special is bound to happen. Long-time friends, they’ve combined their skills, resources, and shared passion for bass to create a co-designed line of Dan Lakin and Ashdown Engineered bass guitars.
What started as a plan for just one bass quickly spiraled into something much bigger. As you’d expect, they couldn’t help but go all in—resulting in an impressive range of instruments, each crafted with precision, tone, and the working bassist in mind.
Ashdown Arc 4 Gold
You can’t go wrong with a P-style bass—it was spot-on in 1957, and with a few thoughtful refinements, the ARC is exactly as it should be today. Built to Dan’s exacting standards, every detail is carefully considered, ensuring a bass that not only looks the part but plays and feels exceptional.
At the heart of the ARC is a custom-wound split humbucker, delivering those rich, familiar tones—deep, yet articulate, with all the punch and presence you’d expect.
Equipped with Hipshot tuners and a Wilkinson bridge, this bass is made with top-tier components, ready for life on the road, in the studio, or at home. Designed to last, the Ashdown ARC is built for bassists who demand reliability and tone without compromise.
