Hellborg Signature — Pure Nickel, Stranded Core
The Hellborg Signature set is Jonas Hellborg’s rethink of what a bass string should be. Built with Dogal in Venice and launched in 2021, it wraps pure nickel over a stranded multicore — a construction borrowed from violin and cello making rather than a scaled-up guitar string.
The result is low tension, unusual flexibility and famously clean intonation: Hellborg wanted the whole overtone series in tune, and the light gauges let the notes bloom with very little effort. Supple in the hand, rich and complex in tone — they reward a light touch.
